"Bob" McKenney, 76 ORANGE- Robert W. "Bob" McKenney, 76, of Orange, passed away on Sunday, November 18, 2012 at his home after a long battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He was born in Orange on October 22, 1936 a son of Everett and Iva I. (Jones) McKenney and grew up in Orange, graduating from Orange High School in 1954. Bob served in the United States Army for a couple years after the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge, Bob went to work at McKenney's Service Station on South Main Street and became the owner upon his father's death and continued to own and operate the station right up until his death. A member of the North Quabbin Lodge of Masons, Bob had also been a member of the Orange Kiwanis Club and the Community Church of North Orange and Tully. A staunch NASCAR racing fan, he also enjoyed spending time with his family at his camp on Lake Mattawa. Survivors include his wife, Audrey (Thompson) McKenney of Orange; a son, Pastor Robert McKenney and his wife, Caroline of New Boston, NH; daughters, Deborah Deane of New Market, MD, and Tracy Flaherty and her husband, Tom, of Orange; a step son, James Buck and his companion, Suanne Cross, of Vernon, VT; step daughter, Christine Koppner of Leicester; grand-daughters, Amy McKenney of Boston and Jeana McKenney of New Orleans, LA; step grandchildren, Sarah Koppner of Chaparral, NM, Samantha Buck, Tiffany Cross, and Tasha Cross, all of Vernon, VT, and William Buck of Leicester; sisters, Joan Reid and her husband, George, of Orange and Marie Tavernini of Alexandria, VA; many nephews and nieces; father in law, Clinton Thompson and his wife, Vergie, of Salisbury, NC; sister in law, Valerie Thompson and her companion, Michael Tivnan of Leicester; and brothers in law, Craig Thompson and his wife, Patty, of Brookfield and James Thompson of Denmark. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Barnes. There are no calling hours.     ORANGE- Iva I. (Jones) McKenney, 96, of 58 Winter Street, died Tuesday evening, December 26, 2006 at Applewood Home for Elders in Athol, following an illness.

    Born on April 13, 1910 in Pelham, she was a daughter of William and Etta (Upton) Jones and grew up in the former Quabbin town of Prescott before moving to Orange in 1927.

    She was a graduate of Fitchburg High School in 1928.
    She was married to Everett A. McKenney who died on August 15, 1981, and they had enjoyed 49 years together.

    A devoted family lady who enjoyed her time with them, Iva also was a longtime member of the First Universalist Church of Orange, the church's Unity Club, the Orange Historical Society, Orange Senior Citizens Club, and the Swift River Historical Society. She was a great volunteer to all of these organizations.

    Survivors include her son, Robert W. McKenney of Orange; daughters, Joan Reid, and her husband, George, of Orange, and Marie Tavernini of Alexandria, Virginia; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
    Besides her beloved husband Everett, she was predeceased by a daughter, Barbara Barnes on January 24, 2000, and two brothers, Oren Jones and Paul Jones.

    Funeral services will be held on Friday morning, December 29, 2006 at 11:00AM at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange. Interment will follow in Mountainview Cemetery in New Salem.

    There will be a calling hour from 10-11AM prior to the service at the funeral home.

    In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the First Universalist Church, 31 North Main Street, Orange, MA 01364.
