Peter Delvee emigrated circa 1752 from Holland. As a small boy, he accompanied his parents and a younger brother to the New World. On the voyage, his mother died, not an uncommon occurrence in those days. Upon reaching this shore, his father soon died leaving Peter and his brother orphans. In the fall he returned to Oxford to bring his wife and new daughter, Bathsheba, back to their new home. It is said that after Lucy's arrival in Warwick, she did not see another woman for a year. Their farm was a prosperous one of over 280 acres.

He served in the company of Captain Agrippa Wells, Col. Samuel Brewer's regiment, at Fort Ticonderoga during the Revolution. He mustered out at Deerfield 10 December 1777.
