    NORTH ATTLEBORO - Norman E. Smith, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2014, surrounded by the comfort of his loving family. He was the son of the late Grace (Slanda) Smith.

    Noman was born in Foxboro on Aug. 17, 1931, and was a graduate of Foxboro High School. He and his wife Marilyn were married in Canton on Dec. 31, 1970. He resided in North Attleboro for the past six years and was formerly of Milford and Plainville.

    Norman was a jewelry maker and landscaper for the Howard Sweet Co. and Stearn and Leach Co. in Attleboro. He retired in 2000. Norman enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. He was a former youth football and baseball coach for the Town of Plainville. A lover of animals, Norman adored his pet cats MO MO, Patches Marie and dog, Splinter.

    Beloved husband Marilyn Shepardson-Smith. Loving father of Mike Smith of North Attleboro, Philip Smith and his wife Sue of Beton, N.H., Julie Scott and her husband Steve of Uxbridge, Lyle Smith and his wife Cheryl of North Attleboro, Susan Brown of Franconia, N.H., and the late Wayne, Norman Jr. and Gina-Lynn Smith. Also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
