A lifetime Stafford County resident, he was a farmer, stockman and bicycle repairman, and worked at the St. John Elevator, Boeing of Wichita, Ford Garage as a mechanic and was a school bus driver for St. John Schools. He belonged to New Hope United Methodist Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in St. John. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II."  [2]
