According to her obituary, after her marriage "she lived in Yankton where she worked at Gurney's Seed and Nursery for many years. Later, she became an insurance agent for Valley State Bank and then worked as a secretary and real estate agent for Dennis Mitchell. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Yankton Fire Department Auxiliary, and Women of the Moose. Gloria loved to travel and went on many trips all over the United States. She also loved to read, crochet and do all kinds of needlework."  [3]
