    • History: Wayne joined the Army Air Corps on April 5, 1943 and was Honorably discharged on March 4, 1946. He had served at Gulfport, Mississippi; Champagne, Illinois; Pratt, Kansas; Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Miami Beach, Florida, during World War II. According to his obituary, "Wayne was a mechanical technician for Erving Paper Mills for seven years. He previously worked for the House of Paper 15 years and for American Greetings for 39 years. He had previously lived in Corbin, KY and while there, was on a bowling team and a member, Deacon, and Sunday School Superintendent of the Central Baptist Church of Corbin, as well as a member of the church's choir. While living in California, Wayne was a coach and manager for the "Indians" of Mar Vista Little League in Los Angeles and took first place for the season, and a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent of the Venice Baptist Church, also in Los Angeles. He had also been a choir member of Grace Baptist Church in North Olmstead, Ohio for awhile. When he moved to Orange, he joined the Singing Men of Athol. He enjoyed bowling, singing, gardening, playing Hawaiian and Spanish guitars."
