Robert L. Eaton, formerly of Portsmouth, NH, passed away at the Winchester Nursing Center after a lengthy illness on Saturday Morning, July 7. He was 87 years of age. Born in Orange, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Arthur, and the late Lillian (Iram) Eaton; and he was the beloved husband of Corinne (Dunlop) Eaton. Robert was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He began as a Naval Aviator, and later served with Naval Intelligence. Robert was a proud graduate of the University of New Hampshire, and he often traveled to UNH sporting events. Robert worked as a computer analyst for Liberty Mutual Insurance prior to his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed gardening, and he particularly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife Corinne, Robert is survived by one son, Robert L. Eaton, Jr. and his wife Denise of Reading; one daughter, Dianne J. Hubert and her husband Frank of NJ; and two grandchildren, Ryan and Samantha Eaton of Reading. He is also survived by one sister, Nancy Duggan of NC; and one brother, Jack Eaton of CA. A funeral service will be held at the Douglass, Edgerley & Bessom Funeral Home, 25 Sanborn St. (Cor. of Woburn St.) Reading on Tuesday, July 10 at 11:00 am. Visiting hours prior to the service on Tuesday from 10-11:00am. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beacon Hospice, 529 Main St., Ste.101, Charlestown, MA 02129. |
