According to his obituary, "Peter was ordained in both the American Baptist and the Evangelical Covenant denominations and pastored three churches from 1970?81 in Adams, Mass.; Port Jefferson, N.Y.; and Plainville, Conn. He was director of administrative services at the Children?s Home of Cromwell, Conn., from 1980?88. He and Pat returned to the North Shore in 1988, where he was employed until 2001 in accounting and computing. Peter was a security guard at Peabody-Essex Museum, Salem, until 2009. He battled Alzheimer?s and several other medical issues for his last 13 years. He had a remarkable knowledge of Scripture, and his faith sustained him to the end. He was a member of North Shore Community Baptist Church in Beverly Farms, and loved serving in various capacities.
Peter was a gentle, kind and well-loved man. His spiritual depth, his desire to be helpful, and his tremendous sense of humor endeared him to many. He loved family, dry humor, logic, theology, gospel music, and taking naps on the floor with beloved furry friends. [4] |
