He was born near Kennewick, in the area of Horse Heaven Hills.
He traveled in many parts of the world, including Samoa, Mexico and Hawaii, before settling in Spokane.
He married Mary Armstrong Crouse in 1949, She died in 2001.
Mr. Crouse worked in several businesses before retiring from Washington Water Power.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, woodworking and storytelling.
Survivors include three daughters, Carissa and Susan Crouse, both of Spokane, and Connie Pope of Oregon; two grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.
