Dinner time drew near and Fred did not arrive and they felt much fear lest he or someone of his family must be seriously ill. A peculiar puff and rattle was heard and all eyes were on the road to see where the strange noise came from. When the strange noise came nearer t hey saw a carriage without horses coming like a mighty wind. And lo! It was Fred and his family. And all exclaimed, Why so late when you came on the wings of the wind! This was the first automobile on these grounds and what a treat for the children when later in the day, as many as could be crowded in the car were given a ride."
