While in Northfield, she and her husband owned and operated several businesses, providing bus transportation for the Northfield School System, operating CME Restaurant on Main Street, Northfield, operating concession stands at area auctions, Millers Motors Used Cars and an antique shop. After her husband's death, she drove the van for the Northfield-Bernardston Senior Center and worked as an outreach person. She was known to many as the Cookie Lady. She was also former chaplain of the Northfield Grange."
