    • Obituary: 24 Feb 2001; Ralph Miller, 65, of Moore Dr., Torrington died Wednesday (February 21, 2001) at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. He was the husband of Donna (Peabody) Miller. Born in Montague City, MA, Nov. 14, 1935 son of Marion E. (Newton) Miller of Bernardston, MA and the late Melvin L. Miller, he was a Torrington resident for the last 22 years. He attended Schools in Northfield Mass. and graduated from ICS with degrees in Civil and Industrial Engineering. While in school he was a land surveyor for The State of Massachusetts, and later was employed by Gilbain Engineering Co of Providence, RI, working on projects on The Prudential Center in Boston, buildings at Brown University in RI, and The Computer Center building in Framingham, MA. He later was Vice President and Director of Site Developement for T&M Building Company for 25 years. He was a member of The Greenfield Elks and later Torrington Elks. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah M Siano of Greenfield, MA; and sons Donald E Miller and his wife Patricia of Guilford VT, Robert L. Miller and his wife Gwen of Turners Falls MA, Gary D. Miller; and his fiancee Traci Barba of Southington and Robert D. (Hopper) Hopkins II of Turners Falls MA; six grandchildren; and several great grandchildren. He also leaves a sister, Shirley M Smith of Greenfield MA; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Feb. 26, 10 a.m. at United Congregational Church, 1622, Torringford St., Torrington. Friends may call at The Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave., Sunday, 2-5 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to The United Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 1622 Torringford St., Torrington, CT 06790 or to The Diabetes Association. A Service is also scheduled for Monday, 3 p.m. at The Wrisley Funeral Home, 90 Sugarloaf St., South Deerfield, MA, with calling hours, 2-3 p.m. Burial will be in the Spring at Rowland Cemetery in Conway, Mass.
