    • History: According to his obituary, "Linc grew up in New Jersey where he starred on the Mt. Lakes High School track team. He attended Dartmouth College as part of the U.S. Navy's V-12 Program and was transferred to the University of Rochester to be trained as an engineering officer, earning both a Bachelor's Degree and a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. At Rochester he was a member of the varsity track team and acquired the title of "Iron Man" by winning on several occasions both the mile and two-mile races on the same afternoon. He was elected to the honorary academic fraternities Tau Beta Pi and Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation he performed mechanical design work on the Cosmotron, the largest particle accelerator of its kind, at Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island, New York. He subsequently worked for Sanderson and Porter, Engineers, in New York City before joining Union Carbide Corporation in 1961. For Union Carbide he worked in New York City, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and Parma, Ohio, retiring as Operations Manager in 1985. Afterward he began work at Kings Bay Naval Base as an officer in charge of construction until his retirement in 1991. Mr. Stoughton was a longtime member, past chairman of the Administration Council and Financial Secretary for the Memorial United Methodist Church of Fernandina Beach. He also volunteered at the Barnabas Center, Friends of the Carpenter, and was past secretary of the Fernandina Beach Men's Golf Association."
