• Obituary: 22 Dec 1993; ATHOL - Grace G. (Strang) Grant, 96, of 171 South Royalston Road died yesterday in Applewood Home after a long illness. Her husband, William J. Grant Sr., died in 1971. She leaves a son, William J. Grant Jr. of Athol; a daughter, Olive S. Long of Palma, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A son, John H. Grant, died earlier this year, and a daughter, Doris E. Robichaud, died in 1987. She was born in Westminster, daughter of Haywood J. and Frances (Tait) Strang, and lived in Athol for the past 76 years, moving here from Everett. Mrs. Grant was a member of Starrett Memorial Methodist Church and Athol Golden Agers. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow in Silver Lake Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Living Memorial Fund of Starrett Memorial Methodist Church, 40 Island St., Athol, 01331.
