    She seems to have three birth dates, one being a mis-copy, but two having validity.

    26 October 1837 - This is from her birth record. Note however that all the Battle births were entered at the same time, and thus her date was copied from an older, no not extent, record.

    8 October 1840 - This date appears on her gravestone and the October 1840 matches the 1900 census. This appears to be the birth date she used during life.

    26 October 1843 - This was from a transcription of the Orange records, and was copied from there by Muse.

    I am using 8 October 1840 as her date given the data available. This is the date she clearly felt was correct. I must admit, that it is with great reluctance to abandon the birth record.
