She worked as a Fire Department dispatcher and also was a member of the Holliston Police Department. She was also a member of the Myrtle Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star Deputy Grand Marshal. Like my grandfather, Effie had a love of music and played Violin for numerous dance bands. Her other hobbies included crocheting, bowling and spending time with family."
