George was a carpenter. He was employed by G.H. Lawrence in 1894 in Orange, Massachusetts. According to his obituary, "During his fathers last illness he and his wife came here [Barre] to care for him, remaining a considerable period and then returning to Orange. Mr. Harding is favorably remembered by many of our citizens in both his earlier days and when here to care for his father. He was social, companionable, well-informed and well liked."
