Parents: One reference gives Jonathan as the father of Peter Delva. No sources were given, nor have I found any other references.

Name:


Immigration:
Peter Delvee emigrated circa 1752 from Holland. As a small boy, he accompanied his parents and a younger brother to the New World. On the voyage, his mother died, not an uncommon occurrence in those days. Upon reaching this shore, his father soon died leaving Peter and his brother orphans. Peter was placed with a family in Oxford, Massachusetts. His brother was also placed, but here he disappears into history. To date, no trace of him has been found.

Residence:
In the spring following his marriage, Peter moved to Warwick, built a house and started a farm. In the fall he returned to Oxford to bring his wife and new daughter, Bathsheba, back to their new home. It is said that after Lucy's arrival in Warwick, she did not see another woman for a year. Their farm was a prosperous one of over 280 acres.

Military:
He served in the company of Captain Agrippa Wells, Col. Samuel Brewer's regiment, at Fort Ticonderoga during the Revolution. He mustered out at Deerfield 10 December 1777.

After said facts had become known, Mr. Jones generously presented his lot, and gave a deed thereof to the town ; and the blacksmith lot was purchased of A. S. Atherton, Mrs. McKim being the original owner. They each gave $25 for the above object. The proprietors, or rather the contributors, met at the hotel, and voted to choose a committee of three persons from their number to take charge of the funds contributed, and finish off and beautify said grounds in a suitable manner for a public park. Voted and chose Hervey Barber, Calvin W. Delva, and Edward F. Mayo, said committee, who circulated another paper for subscriptions for the above purpose ; and they obtained the promise on the same of the sum of $127.50, to be paid in money, labor, and materials, as specified on said paper, to be expended under the supervision of the committee, for the purpose of levelling, fencing, the setting of trees, and otherwise ornamenting said park. The committee soon commenced their work ; and after some delays, from one cause and another, the more prominent one being the want of funds, and the county commissioners having laid a road in such a way as to necessitate the selectmen to take a part of the proprietors' lands for the continuance and extension of said road, the lot, being fenced and nearly finished, was presented to the town, and accepted, as above stated, and a deed of warranty given by Messrs. They thought that the families of Calvin and Peter should get together one more time. Soon they decided to hold a reunion of all of the available descendants of the first Peter. The first reunion was held on a Wednesday, 2 June 1886, and was attended by 126 people. It was such a success that it was decided to meet each year. The call from apparent good health to death came suddenly Monday morning at 10:00 o'clock at his homo in this city. He had been down town as usual that morning and spent some time sociably with friends before returning home- On reaching the house he seated himself and passed a few words of conversation with Mrs. Green and Mr Ed Metz who were in the room, and while thus engaged passed quietly away. He was for many years a leading citizen of the county, widely known and very highly respected. The funeral services at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock wete largely attended. Rev. D. M. Yetter conducted the service, and the funeral was under the direction of the local G. A-R. with Israel Moore, Post Commander. The pall bearers were: Mm. Glasscock, N. Davison, W. H. Row, John A. Morgan, A. C. Glasscock and R. S. Shank. Burial was in Fair-view cemetery. The pastor's notes contained the following obituary of Mr. Green: Joseph D. Green was born in Warwick, Massachusetts, May 25th, 1837, where he grew to manhood. At the call of his country he enlisted in company D of the 12th Massachusetts infantry and after three years and seven months service was honorably discharged, and for many years has been a member of the Grand Army of the Republic. On May 20th, 1876, he was married to Miss Anna A. Morrison who after having lived together for nearly forty years is left a widow. To this union were born seven children all of whom live in Stafford county. They are Mrs. Lillie Fergus, Mrs. Bertha Johnson, Edward G., Frank L., Chester L., Joseph W. and Mrs. Grace Metz. Mr. and Mr. Green came to Kansas in March of 1878 and settled within the bounds of what is now Stafford county, before the county was organized and have lived in the county ever since. They have lived all these years on a farm until about five years ago when they moved to St John, where Mr. Green died October 25th, 1915, at the advanced age of 78 years and five months. Mr. Green was reared under Christian influences in the Baptist church but never joined with' any denomination. He died as he had lived, an honest, upright man, with many friends and few, if any, enemies. His going was sudden.
