Marion E. Cooke, 84, of Cleveland, TN and formerly of New York, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013.
She was a retired teacher?s assistant. She was a member of Candies Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Rena Shepardson Childs; and half-brother, Arthur Childs.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Robert Cooke of Cleveland; children, Wayne Cook and wife, Jane of PA, Cheryl Sivacek and husband, Milan of Murfreesboro, Ruth Sherland and husband, Dwayne of Dix Hills, NY and Tim Cooke and wife, Debbie of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bess Ciarcia and husband, Gerry of MA and Ruth Mark and husband, Jesse of Lexington, KY; seven brothers, Bruce Childs of ME, Bob Childs and wife, Mary of MA, Lloyd Childs and wife, Shira of ID, Don Childs and wife, Carole of IL, Walter Childs, Jr. and wife, Jenny of FL, Richard Childs and wife, Bernice of MA and Myron Shepardson of NY; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with Pastor Jamie Work officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 9 at the Grissom Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
The family requests that memorials be made to Candies Creek Baptist Church, designated for missions to the Winsor Family, 294 Old Eureka Road, Charleston, TN 37310.
