Her husband, Carl Simonds, died in 1962. She leaves three nieces, Barbara J. Duplessie of Petersham, Joan Lavoie of Brockton and Sylvia Shafa of Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Born in Petersham, she was a daughter of Louis and Ella (Houghton) Coolidge, and had lived in Gardner 80 years. She graduated from Petersham High School. Mrs. Simonds, a registered nurse, did private duty nursing and was employed by various hospitals and nursing homes. She graduated from the nursing school at Natick Hospital. Following cremation, graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, in East Street Cemetery, Petersham. The Rev. Gordon P. Tate will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greenfield Area Animal Shelter, French King Highway, Greenfield, 01301. For 25 years, Brad ran his own successful business as a recruitment specialist for information technology executives for top fortune five hundred companies nationwide and several businesses abroad. Brad had the gift for gab and humor which served him well over the years in developing long term relationships with hundreds of clients. Nothing pleased Brad more than making a winning match by placing his client in the right job. His ability to recall names, dates and events on the spot from memory never ceased to amaze family, friends and business associates. Brad, who has lived in the Champlain Islands for over twenty years, was well known as a bit of a character, often seen with his beloved dog, Mulligan on his way for muffins to Hero?s Welcome or Wally?s Bagel Shop. He loved living in the islands and rarely felt it necessary to go over the sand bar. Brad loved a good party and good food.
