    • Obituary: 29 Aug 1994; WHITNEY. Glenn H. Whitney, 44, died Saturday (Aug. 27, 1994) at Hartford Hospital after a long illness. He was the beloved son of Pauline F. Whitney of Farmington, and the late Robert H. Whitney. Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Laurence R. Whitney and his wife, Janice, of Simsbury, Wayne B. Whitney and his wife, Michelle, of Kensington; his two sisters, Elaine E. Whitney, and Cynthia P. Whitney, both of Farmington; his cousin William Paul Cully of Windsor; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was born in Hartford, and lived in Farmington most of his life. He graduated from South Hampton College, Long Island University, and worked for the State of Connecticut, Services for the Blind, for many years. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. The funeral will be Wednesday, 9:30 a.m., from the Molloy Funeral Home, 906 Farmington Ave. West Hartford, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 110 Main St. Farmington. Burial arrangements are private at a later date. Calling hours are Tuesday, 7-9 p.m., at the funeral home.     According to Muse (2000), "Glenn suffered from diabetes, like his father, and due to this illness lost sight in one of his eyes in 1978. In 1982, he received a kidney transplant from his brother, Larry. Even though he was legally blind, Glenn owned and operated a coffee shop in the local courthouse in Hartford, Conn. for many years."
