Text Pauline Frances Whitney, 90, passed away peacefully at home on
July 5, 2012, with her daughters by her side. Pauline was born in 1922
in Hartford to Bernard and Elizabeth (Farrell) Loughlin, and lived
in Farmington since 1962. She is predeceased by her son, Glenn H.
Whitney, and brother, Bernard Loughlin. Pauline enjoyed her work
as a secretary with the T.E.Desmond Company until her retirement in
1989. She enjoyed living on Woodridge Lake, and her trips to the ocean
where she taught all of her children not to get lost on a crowded beach.
She loved a good game of bridge, a well made martini, and a good
mystery novel. Pauline is survived by her sister, Patricia Bowen,
who lived with Pauline and her daughters for the last several years.
She is also survived by her sister Joan Reincke and her husband
Robert Reincke of Colchester, and sister-in-law Pauline Loughlin of
Florida. She leaves her daughters Elaine E. and Cynthia P.
Whitney, who will forever be grateful and blessed to have had
Pauline as their mother and best friend. Pauline also leaves her
son Laurence R. Whitney and his wife, Janice, of Simsbury, and
son Wayne B. Whitney of Glastonbury. She leaves nephew William
Paul Cully and his wife Virginia, of Amston, daughter-in-law Michelle
Whitney and her children, Bree Haroutunian, Michael and Whitney
Haroutunian, Rae and Tom Buckberrough, and many nieces and
nephews. The family would like to thank Arzu Demir, Rosemarie
Thompson, and the VNA/Hospice for their warm and loving care,
allowing Pauline to live her last days at her beloved home, so that
she could enjoy her gardens and the wildlife that visited her backyard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to My Sisters Place, 102
Pliny St., Hartford, CT 06120. The funeral will be Monday July 9, 2012
beginning with visitation from 9:00-10:30 am at the Molloy Funeral Home
906 Farmington Ave. West Hartford, CT followed by the celebration of her Mass of
Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Patrick?s Church, 110 Main St., Farmington.
