Jane Parker Gagne, 70, of 5 Kimberly Ave., Turners Falls, died Monday at Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield. She was a cook at the University of Massachusetts, and retired in 1996. She was previously a cook at the Linden Hill School in Northfield. Born in Mont Vernon, N.H., she attended schools in Northfield and Milford, N.H. She belonged to the Greenfield Moose Club and the Ladies Benevolent Society of Northfield Farms, and was active in area singles clubs. She leaves her husband, Alphonse Gagne at home; a son, Andrew Garello of Sturbridge; a daughter, April Parker Rapelye of Northfield; a niece, Jean ("Susie") Vaine of North Carolina, whom she raised; a brother, Win J. Nichols of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Doris Boggis of Nashua, N.H.; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A calling hour will precede the funeral Thursday morning at Kidder Funeral Home, with the burial in Farms Cemetery, both at Northfield.
