    Text Wayne I. Hunter Wayne I. Hunter, 73, of 31 Bradford St. died yesterday at Hillcrest Hospital after a long illness. Born in Orange Sept. 17, i913, son of Harvey M. and Margaret Fratus Hunter, he was educated in Orange schools and lived there before moving to Pittsfield 40 years ago. Before his retirement, Mr. Hunter was employed in General Electric Co.'s power transformer department for nine years. Before that he was a foreman at U.S. Gypsum for several years until the company closed. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and a volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the Senior Citizens. He was the husband of the former Florence Wheeler, to whom he was married 51 years in July. Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Joan Wieber of Pittsfield, Mrs. Nathalie Kissel of Shutesbury and Mrs. Thelma Sroka of Groton, Conn., and seven grandchildren. Mr. Hunter's wish was for his body to be donated to Tufts Medical School. There will be no calling hours. A private memorial service will be held at a. later date in Shutesbury. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Hunter's memory to the charity of the donor's choice in care of the Dery Funeral Home.
