    Text PETERSHAM - Ethel L. "Dolly" (Keddy) Barnes, 83, passed away peacefully Monday, March 23, 2015, at her home surrounded by her loving family following a long illness.

    Dolly was born in Barre on July 28, 1931, the daughter of Charles and Geraldine (Spokesfield) Keddy. She grew up in Barre, graduating from Barre High School and attended Worcester State College and has resided in Petersham most of her life.

    Dolly was the human resources manager for Athol Memorial Hospital for 20 years; she also owned and operated "The Doll House" in Petersham for 12 years and also served as treasurer for the town of Petersham for 12 years.

    Her husband of 59 years, Bernard H. "Bumps" Barnes Jr., died in 2010.

    She leaves her children, Karen Lachance and her husband Michael, Robert Barnes and his wife Clare, Bernard Barnes and Lorrie Bernard and her husband Michael; grandchildren, Dan Gilmore and his wife Tracy, Jennifer Gilmore and her partner Rachel, Julie Suprenant and her husband Mark, Jill Poulin and her husband Jay, Theresa Barnes, Christopher Bernard and wife Sarah, Brian Bernard and step-grandchild James Lachance and his wife Jenell. Her pride and joy were her great- grandchildren, Ellie, Addison, Henry, Landon, Oliver, Braydan and Nathan; and four step-grandchildren, Perry, Naiya, Jaidyn and Aydian. She also leaves a sister, Myra Hardaker, a brother, Albert Keddy and sisters-in-law, Janet Barnes and Barbara Donahue.

    Besides her husband she was predeceased by a brother, Charles Keddy.

    At Dolly's request, no funeral service or calling hours will be held. There will be a family graveside service in East Street Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
